Midweek under the lights see Reds beat the Whites

Under the lights at the Leeds United Academy for this midweek clash of top vs third in the FAWNL Div 1 North.
Drew Greene returns to the starting 11, and Laura Bartup makes her full league debut.
The Reds warm up on the pitch in preparation for tonight’s game.

1' The game gets underway
7' The game has started at a frantic pace. Both teams are up for this one.
12' Leeds have had the first real chance of the game. The attacker got in behind the defence and strikes the ball toward goal. It's a routine save for Bethan Davies.
16' Leeds get a free kick in a dangerous area. It's defended well at the back post by Laura Bartup, who leaps the highest to head it clear.
18' A good, fast counter attack from Leeds, and the Reds can’t quite get their defensive shape quick enough. It’s squared from the right, and the Leeds attacker buries in the bottom corner from 12 yards. 1-0 Leeds
21' Leeds nearly make it 2 after a challenge goes in on keeper Bethan Davies. While she's on the floor, Leeds manage to get an effort on goal that goes just wide. The physio is on to give Bethan some treatment.
25' Thankfully Bethan is OK and the game gets back underway
26' Leeds go close from a corner. After the cross is initially defended well at the front post, the ball falls kindly for a Leeds player who fires over from 10 yards.
31' A great looping ball in from Lindsay Tugby causes a problem for the Leeds Keeper. Drew Greene wins the header but its goes over.
37' The Reds have responded well to going behind and have much more of a foothold in the match. The Reds are pushing Leeds back and have put a few good balls into the box.
40' Leeds look dangerous on the break and play a good ball behind the defence. Sophie Bell recovers and guides the ball back to the keeper.
43' Kathryn Smith get taken down from behind in midfield. After some consideration, the Ref shows the culprit a yellow card.
45' Lucy Turner whips in a good cross from deep, after a scramble in the box the ball falls to Lindsay Tugby whose shot goes wide.

46' Good chance for the Reds from kick off. Lissa Woodhouse crosses to Drew Greene. Greene’s effort is blocked, it comes out to Laura Bartup who shoots wide.
50' Strong play from Laura Bartup, who holds off the defender and has a go, but the keeper saves at her near post.
54' Lissa Woodhouse keeps her composure to round the keeper and slot into an empty net after a long ball forward. The linesman had has flag up on Laura Bartup, but it was judged that she didn’t touch the ball/interfere with play. 1-1 Equiliser.
