Match day 4 success for Reds in Yorkshire Derby

An away trip to the Mitton Group Stadium in Bradford for this local match day 4 league clash.
The teams warmed up in the sunshine getting accustomed to the grass pitch and shaking off their legs in what is their third game in a week.

Before lining up in their blue new Away kit thanks to kit supplier Capelli Sport.

2' Early chance for the Reds. Kathryn Smith fires the ball across but Darcie Greene can't get enough on it.
4' Barnsley corner falls to Kathryn Smith who strikes the ball but can't keep it down
10' More corners for the Reds in as many minutes. Sophie Crosby has put in a couple of useful balls but Reds haven't made them count
16' Darcie Greene skips past a Bradford defender before getting her shot away. The Reds thought it went over the line but the Referee disagreed.
20' The Reds have a penalty appeal turned away by the Referee as Hannah Campbell picks up the ball with her back to goal and goes down after a challenge from the defender.
22' Constant pressure from the Reds here, not allowing Bradford out of their box and get another corner. Yet another good ball whipped in from Crosby. Annie Ward can't quite get over it enough to keep it under the bar.
27' The ball comes in from another Reds corner and is flicked on by Lucy Turner. It heads towards goal and Hannah Campbell or flicks it in from close range. On closer look final touch was from Sophie Bell. 0-1 to Barnsley.
33' Hannah Campbell is played in down the line and gets the ball across. It's met by Lissa Woodhouse who's effort is blocked on the line.
36' The Reds threaten to double their lead. Lissa Woodhouse turns her defender and strikes the ball but it's just over
44' Lissa Woodhouse gets on the loose ball but she doesn't beat the keeper
45' Darcie Greene hits a free kick from 30 yards out which has the Bradford keeper scrambling across her goal. It goes just wide.
HALF TIME : The Reds are 1 to the good after a dominant first 45.
