Annie Ward & Sophie Crosby shuffled across to be the two centre backs and Emily Ward got her first start of the season.

Within the first minute Barnsley were awarded a freed kick just inside the Bolton half which Sophie Crosby hit a bit too long and out for a goal kick.
2nd min Bolton’s N011 attacked into the left wing channel stretching Sophie Bell before crossing into the goal area where Sophie Crosby cleared away.
4 min Amy Woodruff on the left wing played back to Emily Ward who crossed deep o Drew Greene on the edge of the penalty area, as she tried to take the ball around her defender she was blocked but the Referee waved away the appeal.
6 min Amy Woodruff was pulled back by No2 as she tried to break forward. The free kick was taken quickly and resulted in a Barnsley throw nearer goal which was defended away.
8 min Darcie broke from centre midfield towards the left wing before playing inside to Amy Woodruff to hit a shot from 35 yards which the goalkeeper gathered safely.
9 min Bolton No8 broke across midfield but was tackled well by Darcie Greene to allow Barnsley to break, but the ball was defended away and up the left wing the Bolton No9 won a free kick 19 yards from goal off Annie Ward. Their No6 shot wide of the left hand post.
11 min Sophie Bell played out of defence into Drew Greene, back to Sophie making progress forward up the right wing. Spotting the movement of Lissa Woodhouse but she was defended well playing back to Sophie Bell then into Rebecca Hornsey before the move broke down.
16 min Handball just inside the Bolton half gave a free kick opportunity to Bolton which Sophie Crosby cleared out for a throw.
22 min Darcie Greene linked up with Sophie Crosby as her way forward was blocked, she passed to Annie Ward who played in the right wing channel space for Lissa Woodhouse to collect and play off the legs of her defender to win a corner. Sophie Crosby swung this in deep to the back post where Annie Ward smashed just wide.
28 Bolton corner was headed clear by Sophie Crosby.
35 min Bolton No 7 was booked for dissent following non award of a free-kick she thought she was due. Annie nicked the back at the edge of the centre circle before playing it into the right wing channel, Drew Greene chased it down managing to cross from the goal line which was blocked out for a corner. Sophie C took it but this time too long and out for a goal line.
38 min Bolton No12 hit a shot from 25 yards over the top of the cross bar.
42 min Rebecca Hornsey swung in a free-kick from the left which was head over and out for a corner which Sophie C crossed in and this time Annie Ward headed it at the back post and over the cross bar.
45 min Bolton corner was punched clear by Skye Kirkham, but it was collected on the right wing and Emily Ward made the block out for another corner which was cleared away as half time was blown.
Nothing to split the 2 sides at half time.
46 min Barnsley got the second half underway.
47 min Bolton broke down the right wing, with the intial cross blocked but the rebound was played to the edge of the penalty area from where the shot was saved by the left hand of Skye Kirkham out for a corner.
52 min Bolton switch the pay from the left wing to right corner of the penalty area where Emily Ward managed to block out No9 for a corner. Sophie Crosby headed out for another corner. The 2nd corner headed by Annie Ward who was fouled in the process and Barnsley cleared the danger.
56 min Rebecca Hornsey swung a free-kick into the penalty area, which was miss headed back into the box where Lissa Woodhouse tried a shot on the turn which was blocked, Annie Ward tried but this was blocked and Bolton broke quickly down their left wing, Sophie Bell was stretching every sinew to keep up and maintain pressure which paid off then the final shot was weak and safely gathered by Skye Kirkham.
59 min Bolton No9 managed to break the Barnsley offside line and race through into the penalty Area, but Emily Ward managed to get back to the side of her putting just enough pressure on to force a mistake and Skye Kirkham gathered.
63 min Bolton switch the ball from left wing to right channel again, Skye Kirkham was alert to it and came out quickly to bravely block, with Skye out of position their No9 crossed but with Emily Ward and Annie Ward on the goal line Sophie Crosby cleared.
66 min Rebecca Hornsey is cautioned for a foul tackle.

72 min Bolton’s No10 gets onto the end of a cross but straight into Skye’s hands
75 min Lissa Woodhouse plays a ball over the top of the Bolton defence for Drew with chase down into the right side of the penalty area from where she hits a shot across the face of goal towards the far post, but the Bolton keeper manages to get a hand to edge it out for a corner. Rebecca Hornsey takes, Sophie C heads on and Annie Ward shot is blocked. Again Bolton break quickly and a long ball over the top sees Emily Ward in a foot race with their No7, she tries to pass it back to Skye Kirkham but the No7 gets her toe to the ball and pushes the ball passed Skye and just wide of the goal.

79 min from a Bolton corner from the left their No6 rises highest to head into the net. 0-1 Bolton.
82 min Amy Woodruff is replaced by Francesca Wild with Darcie Greene moving to left wing, and Frankie taking the no 10 position behind Lissa Woodhouse with Rebecca Fevers dropping into midfield.
83 min Bolton midfield tried a long range shot from 25 yards which rattled off the crossbar.
86 min Darcie Greene came inside from the left wing and tried a shot from 20 yards out which the goal keeper gathered safely.
89 min a quick release by Skye Kirkham in to Rebecca Fevers saw her pass forward into Drew Greene charging forward up the right wing, she got to the Bolton goal line before pulling it back to Francesca Wild who squared to Darcie Greene but her shot was blocked away.
93 min as Darcie Greene tried to break free up the left she was tripped by the Bolton No2 who received a caution. Rebecca Hornsey took the free kick into Darcie Greene who shot on the turn but it was save by the goal keeper out for a corner to gasps from the Reds spectators.
95 min Bolton break the offside line with No 19 through, but Annie Ward managed to pressure and Skye saved the shot out for a corner.
