A late change of pitch location saw Barnsley FC Ladies play at another University venue this time Edge Hill on the outskirts of Ormskirk. Liverpool Marshall Feds (LMF) in all navy blue and Barnsley FC Ladies in Red, plus the Match Officials in light blue tops. Barnsley FC Ladies also suffered some late withdrawals so although they set up in a new formation of 1-4-1-3-2, there was no Demi Pringle leading the line, instead it was Amy Woodruffe and Dianke Volu with Rebecca Fevers, Bekkie Hale and Drew Greene. Elisha James sat just in front of a defensive back four of Emily Ward, Lucy Turner (c), Georgina Wilson and Darcie Greene. With only Kristie Ward and Laura Windle on the bench.

Half time and already a lot of defensive work in their own half completed so the management team decided to switch back to 4-4-2 with Elisha James going to left back, Darcie Greene to left wing, Dianke Volu to right wing and with Amy Woodruffe dropping into central midfield alongside Rebecca Fevers, so up front went Bekkie Hale and Drew Greene.

74 mins Amy Woodruffe played up to Kristie Ward, she passed to Laura Windle and then out to the left and Darcie Greene. Kristie made herself available for the return ball before switching play to the right wing into Emily Ward whose cross found Kristie Ward but her goal wards effort was a comfortable save for goal keeper Tomkins.
75 mins a LMF through ball down right wing channel found Elisha James on the wrong side of the attacker, as she tried to exert pressure, she was turned inside and the Kinvig slotted the shot passed Laura Wilson and inside the far right hand post for her 2nd goal of the game. 4-0.

89 mins and a LMF pass through the middle saw a foot race between Lucy Turner and LMF forward, in a rare moment Lucy was bumped off the ball and the shot hit into bottom corner 8-0.
This was a difficult result to take for Barnsley FC Ladies, they had been impacted by late changes to the team, tried a new formation and faced a Liverpool Marshall Feds team who were on top of their game and grew in confidence as the game went on. Liverpool needed an 8 goal difference to move to top of the league and they got it at the expense of Barnsley Fc Ladies. Opposition player of the match went to Drew Greene.
No game for a couple of weeks now, so time to regroup, train hard, put this game behind them and re-find the winning mentality which will lead to future success so they can get the couple of wins against the league struggling teams they need to secure WPL status for next season.
Following the game we heard that Demi Pringle had re-joined Brighouse Town, but Rebecca Wilson and a couple of new faces were signing for the Reds. Look forward not over your shoulder, stay strong as a Team and your will get your rewards for hard effort.
