19 degrees and full sun greeted the players as the spectators took their seats in summer tops and sunglasses for the final home match of the season.
East Yorkshire Carnegie in black and white kit lined up with just 10 players on a pitch which had needed some pre-match watering but was still quite hard. They kicked off with pressure down the right wing, and then switched over to the left but it was dealt with easily and quickly released to Holly Findlay to attack down the right wing before shooting just wide of the right hand post.
Emily Ward playing right back passed out of defence to Drew Greene after 3 mins, who spotted the run of Amy Woodruff to put her through but the keeper was out quickly to clear.
It was Amy Woodruff who was block tackled in the left wing channel, but the ball fell to Danielle Lowe to spread play to the right wing for Emily Ward to
[/list] put a ball in over the top of the East Yorkshire defence into Holly Findlay, but the offside flag was raised.
7 mins gone Brittany Sanderson passed into Holly Findlay, she went back to Darcie Greene before making a forward break to receive the ball back, driving to the goal line she tried a tight angle shot straight into the goal keeper.
8 mins Brittany Sanderson drove down the left wing before switching play to the right where Drew Greene picked it up, driving to the goal line to cross into the penalty area where Amy Woodruff rose higher than the goal keeper to head into the goal, 1-0 Barnsley.
Georgina Wilson released Any Woodruff with a lovely channel pass after 10 mins, she drove forward before crossing into the goal area where under pressure from Drew Greene the defender slice her clearance into the back her own goal, 2-0 Barnsley.
In the 11th min it was Georgina Wilson again who found Darcie Greene of the left wing, she played in Brittany Sanderson who drove centrally into the penalty area before shooting straight at the goal keeper.
Holly Findlay picked the ball up on the left wing after 12 mins, she found Brittany Sanderson in the pocket at the edge of the penalty area. She dummied and dribbled through the defence before calmly shooing across the goalkeeper and into the net, 3-0 Barnsley.
East Yorkshire were awarded a throw-in on the left after 16 mins which they played across the field into their No6 Molly Storey, but as she tried to drive into the penalty area Darcie Greene stayed strong on her shoulder steering her towards the corner flag before winning the ball just before the goal line and playing out to safety.
18 mins Lucy Turner played a long through ball which Drew Greene chased down forcing the goal keeper to concede a corner.
Then from a Barnsley free-kick awarded on the centre line after 20 mins Danielle Lowe found Britany Sanderson who laid off a pass to Laura Shephers to shoot, but the keeper managed to palm it away at her left hand post, Holly Findlay was first to the rebound playing it back to Darcie Greene to shoot but that was also saved.
Lucy Turner cleared long after 22 mins and this time Holly Findlay timed her run perfectly to beat the offside, she was pressured wide but managed to cross into penalty area from which it was cleared.
23 minutes gone and a drinks break for all the players after which Darcie Greene, Holly Findlay and Brittany Sanderson were subbed for Melissa Cole, Kathryn Smith and Rebecca Fevers.
Melissa Cole saw a gap opening up after 30mins, so she drove forward through it before playing it to Amy Woodruff just outside the East Yorkshire penalty area, but it was defended away.
31 mins gone Rebecca Fevers exerted good pressure on the East Yorkshire defence to force a mislaid pass picked up by Amy Woodruff to shoot just over the cross bar.
34 mins and down the left wing Barnsley built an attack started by Melissa Cole, into Rebecca Fevers to drive forward and cross into Kathryn Smith who shot from a tight angle across the Keeper to score, 4-0 Barnsley.
Playing along the back line Georgina Wilson passed to Melissa Cole after 36 mins, into Kathryn Smith who played a through ball for Amy Woodruff to cross into Rebecca Fevers to shoot just wide of the right post.
39 mins Laura Shepherd played out from midfield into Drew Greene, laying back to Emily Ward who returned her the ball down the right wing to win a corner. It was taken short to Emily Ward to cross into Kathryn Smith on the edge of the penalty area but her shot went just wide.
Two minutes later Emily Ward from defence played out to Laura Shepherd and then looped around her to cross into Kathryn Smith who this time played in Amy Woodruff but her shot was saved.
42 mins Danielle Lowe drove into the penalty area having picked up the ball from an East Yorkshire goal kick, she played in Amy Woodruff but her shot was blocked out for a corner.
From an East Yorkshire free-kick awarded for a Barnsley offside, a rare moment with Lucy Turner miss judging the flight of the ball and the attack was on down the left wing, but she quickly recovered racing back to get a foot in to concede a corner, which Bryony Hudson dealt with at a stretch catching cleanly.
Half-time Barnsley 4-0, changes with Holly Findlay, Brittany Sanderson and Darcie Greene returning for Danielle Lowe, Amy Woodruff and Drew Greene with Emily Ward moving to right wing.
48 mins a through ball which the goal keeper thought she could get to was chased down by Kathryn Smith, she managed to get a toe to it pushing it towards the goal line before playing it back to Emily Ward who shot and Holly Findlay at the back post deflected it into the goal, but the flag was raised for offside.
Holly Findlay broke through the East Yorkshire defence and pulled the ball back from the goal-line into Laura Wilson to shoot over the cross bar.
51 mins Emily Ward recovered the ball after a failed Barnsley attack before East Yorkshire could get away, she played back to Georgina Wilson before receiving it back, driving into the corner to cross to Kathryn Smith, her shot was cleared but only to Darcie Greene who dribbled around the penalty area line from the left wing, when she was central she shot and scored, 5-0.
Brittany Sanderson played in Kathryn Smith after 53 mins driving through the box to the goal line, before playing back to Emily Ward who crossed to Holly Findlay at the back post to head just wide.
55 mins Georgina Wilson drove forward from centre back into midfield, she played left into Holly Findlay who threaded a ball into the path of Darcie Greene to shoot and score, 6-0 Barnsley.
57 mins Lucy Turner’s long ball put Brittany Sanderson through on goal to calmly place passed the goal keeper,7-0.
It was Brittany Sanderson who played into the right wing channel for Emily Ward after 48mins, she played in Holly Findlay who picked out Brittany Sanderson to shoot into the goal keeper.
East Yorkshire played through the Barnsley defence after 59mins and it saw a foot race between Georgina Wilson which their No6 reached first but Georgia managed to cleanly win the ball back.
60 mins Darcie Greene beat the offside and was through to cross into Brittany Sanderson, but her shot was saved by the goal keeper only to push into Holly Findlay to score, 8-0.
62 mins Barnsley attacked with Brittany Sanderson, out to Emily Ward who passed into Kathryn Smith to pass square around a defender into Brittany Sanderson to smash home top right, 9-0.
Down the left wing Darcie Greene drove into the penalty area after 63 mins before shooting low inside the left hand post, 10-0.
64 mins gone Laura Shepherd, Lucy Turner and Georgia Wilson made way for Amy Woodruff, Drew Greene and Danielle Lowe dropping into centre back and Emily Ward going back to right back as Barnsley went to three in defence.
Kathryn Smith drove through the centre of the East Yorkshire defence on 65 mins to smash the ball off the underside of the cross bar and into the net giving the goal keeper no chance. 11-0.
East Yorkshire mounted an attack from the kick off, dribbling almost through on goal but was stopped by Brittany Sanderson sliding in to win the ball on the penalty spot.
66 mins Kathryn Smith played out to the left wing and Darcie Greene crossed into Amy Woodruff to score 12-0.
Down the left wing after 68 mins Drew Greene crossed long into Darcie Greene to shoot low, this time inside the right post, 13-0.
After another drinks break, Rebecca Fevers managed to get her toe first to a 50-50 ball to play in Drew Greene but her cross was caught by the goal keeper.
Molly Storey then tried a long range shot after 72 mins but Bryony Hudson caught it easily to throw out to Emily Ward, she found Rebecca Fevers in midfield, playing the ball out to Drew Greene, she played in Brittany Sanderson but her shot was blocked.
78 mins Kathryn Smith played a cross field pass into Rebecca Fevers with her back to goal, she twisted and shot on the turn but it was caught by the goal keeper.
Drew Greene played Holly Findlay through after 79 mins with offside claims dismissed, but the goal keeper parried the shot away.
81 mins Brittany Sanderson from midfield passed to Rebecca Fevers who played in Darcie Greene but offside.
From a Barnsley corner dealt with by East Yorkshire, Amy Woodruff raced back to strongly win the ball back from the attacking East Yorkshire midfielder, she played into Rebecca Fevers who passed into Drew Greene with Holly Findlay making the decoy run. Drew Greene crossed but it was caught by the goal keeper.
Full time 13-0 a good win in the last home match and with Norton also winning the league title is going down to the final match with Barnsley Ladies FC on 48 points and Norton and Stockton Ancients 51 points.
