The Reds came into the away game against Notts County with a point to prove after defeat to Northampton last week.
Manager Craige Richardson made several changes to the first XI with Summer Reece coming back in, as well as a debut for recent signing Jemima 'Jimmy' Footitt.
It was the hosts who had the first shot of note in the game in the 3rd minute, with a speculative effort saved well by skipper Bean Clarke. It felt like that was their aim all first half, and it was The Reds who looked to play the football.
The Reds were attempting to play out from the back and had several chances in the first 20 minutes with chances coming to Charlotte Stuart, whose header went just wide, and minutes later from Amber Sewell, a constant thorn in the opposition right back's side, firing over from distance. It felt like when, not if, the Reds score.
The Reds were showing plenty of endeavour, with another couple of shots going wide from Stuart and Sewell, and lots of free kick's given in what was a physical battle, especially from the hosts.
Jemima Footitt was at the heart of everything, holding up play and impressing on debut, however it was against the run of play which gave Notts County the lead, when a long hopeful ball ended up being played into ex-Barnsley player Emily Brett to tap in to give the hosts a half-time advantage.

The Second half started well, with the Reds getting on the ball much better. The Reds were level two minutes in after a kick from the goalkeeper rifled off Helen Lynskey and in the net. A stroke of luck, but on balance very much deserved.
The Reds were in their groove and after some brilliant play in the 55th minute found Ocean Rolandsen, who teed up Helen Lynskey who fired us 2-1 up.
After this the Reds continued to create opportunities and press forward and could and should have put the game to bed. The game changed slightly in the 71st Minute after the hosts were down to ten after Barnes was sent off for violent conduct after grappling Freya Walton. The ref had already booked a couple at this point and the game threatened to boil over.
Manager Craige Richardson made a change, with Lucy Cook, already in the book, replaced by Jemima Jarvis. Another change in the 84th minute was enforced as a late challenge on Charlotte Stuart saw another yellow, potentially leniently. Abi Housecroft coming on to add some energy to the front.
The Reds saw the game out, but not before Jodie Snelson, coming on in the final minutes nearly made it three. The Reds created a number of chances to make it three but 2-1 was enough for the three points as the Reds bounced back from last week.
Much better and played some great stuff. Onwards to next week. The Reds did really well to keep their heads when things went awry.
Team: Clarke (C) GK, Reece, Walton, Fugler, Cook (Jarvis 71'), Horner, Stuart (Housecroft 84') , Rolandsen, Lynskey, Sewell (Snelson 90+5'), Footitt
Goals: Lynskey (47' & 54')
POTM- From my point of view I think Jemima Footitt and Helen Lynskey could justify it as a joint. I think there were some strong performances all through
