The Reds bounced back from last weeks’ disappointment with a comprehensive win against Lincoln Women at Ashby Avenue.

The Reds made several changes from last week, with Jodie Snelson returning for her first game, with Katy Woodcock, Freya Walton in the starting lineup.

The Reds started with intent and were ahead in the sixth minute. An exception ball in, an exception run and finish with her head by Millie Fugler. Two goals in two league games, some start to life in Red!

From then it was a case of how many as we completely controlled play, with some nice stuff being played.

It would take us until the 17th minute for us to double our lead. Amber Sewell, fresh from the assist for our first, got on the scoresheet, cutting inside before unleashing an effort that gave the hosts keeper no chance.

The Reds press then helped us a minute later when the hosts, playing out from the back got caught before some outstanding quick play between Amber Sewell and Charlotte Stuart found the run of Ocean Rolandsen to slot home.

From then it was one way traffic, with the exception of a couple of long balls and an occasional corner which gave something for skipper Bean Clarke to keep her attentive.

Just before half time, it was four-nil to the Reds. A great passage of play found Summer Reece who burst past the hosts left-back and played in a ball that found Helen Lynskey to make it three in three league games.

As half time started, Manager Craige Richardson made one change. Summer Reece, with an assist in the first half being replaced by Jemima Jarvis.

It did not take JJ long to make an impact. A quickly taken corner found her on the edge of the box before bending one around the keeper to make it five-nil.

Five quickly became Six after another corner from Amber Sewell found Charlotte Stuart unmarked to rifle home.

The Reds weren’t finished there. A smart passage of play from Amber Sewell found the run of Ocean Rolandsen who calmly rounded and slotted the ball past the keeper for her second of the game.

In all fairness, it was nearly eight when Abi Housecroft forced an outstanding save from the hosts goalkeeper and we still had several chances.

Just before the end of the game there was one chance for the hosts but the ball was saved well by Clarke, and given the game was pretty much one way, the concentration was still there.

7 goals, a clean sheet, 2 goals from Ocean, 3 assists and a goal from Amber Sewell, 3 in 3 for Helen Lynskey and Charlotte Stuart and 2 in 2 for Millie Fugler.

Good result, more to come from this group, just getting started.
