We’re underway
4' First chance of the afternoon goes to Brighouse, but it’s snatched at and goes safely wide.
10' The Reds eventually clear after a few Brighouse corners, one of which hit the bar.
12' First Reds chance falls to Laura Bartup who curls Lissa Woodhouse‘s square ball just wide.
20' What a save from Bethan Davies! Hannah Freibach (former Red) bursts through one-on-one, but Davies denies her.
25' Laura Bartup turned her marker and was tripped in the penalty area. Kathryn Smith sticks the penalty away in the bottom corner of the goal.

35' Not a lot to report since the goal. But the Reds have seen a lot more of the ball.
38' Reds’ corner is recycled and Lissa Woodhouse smacks one on the volley, but it’s off target.
44' What a mixup at the back! The Brighouse keeper comes out of her box to win a long ball, but her close control lets her down and she loses out to Laura Bartup. Lindsey Tugby can’t quite steer it goalwards where Brighouse defenders were desperately rushing back to cover.

HALF TIME | Brighouse Town 0-1 Reds A very balanced affair so far with both sides seeing a lot of the ball, but Kathryn Smith converting a blatant penalty is what separates the sides.
Second Half underway
50' The Brighouse keeper spills a routine collection, Lissa Woodhouse is there but it’s cleared off the line.
52' Laura Bartup appeals for a penalty after appearing to be barged to the floor, but the referee gives a free kick the other way
60' Stoppage as a Brighouse player is down receiving treatment. Reds’ Captain Lucy Turner smashes the ball out of play before being cleaned out by the Brighouse player. Brighouse player has come off worse.
66' Brighouse make a change. Think it was the player who was down injured, replaced by no. 16.
70' Lissa Woodhouse powers forward and has a go from 20 yards. The keeper makes sure this time and makes it safe.
73' The Reds press hard up the top end and force a few mistakes from the Brighouse rear guard. Can’t quite force a chance.
75' A Brighouse free kick is whipped dangerously across the face of goal, but thankfully the Reds scramble clear.
76' Lissa Woodhouse is replaced by Amy Woodruff.
79' Reds ride a wave of pressure whilst down to 10 as Kathryn Smith gets off the field treatment for a nose bleed.
81' What a challenge! Annie Ward with an absolute last ditch challenge to keep the Reds in front.
83' Late challenge on Darcie Greene from Brighouse 16 results in a yellow card.
87' What a challenge AGAIN from Annie Ward who deny’s Hannah Freibach a shooting opportunity inside the area.

92' Brighouse win a corner. It’s recycled but the Reds clear their lines.

The girls have laid everything out on that field today, but they’ve smashed it! Manager Chris Hamilton leads the lowdown, and it’s safe to say he’s a happy man!
Reds’ boss, Chris Hamilton, gives his immediate thoughts after today’s 1-0 win away at Brighouse Town Ladies.
This means that Barnsley Women are into the fourth round in tomorrow’s draw, and the FA Championship and and Barclays FAWSL teams join the competition.
