The teams came out together on this wet Sunday afternoon at Rossington Main FC, Doncaster Belles in Blue and Yellow, Barnsley FC Ladies in Red.

The Belles lie currently a full league above Barnsley FC Ladies 12 position FA Northern Premier division. Lucy Turner won the coin toss so it was Belles who got this FA WNL Plate 2nd round fixture underway.
3 min Belles corner from the right after good defensive play by Mollie Crump saw their No4 pull her shot wide
5 min Kathryn Smith played through the Belles defensive feeding the ball out into the right wing channel where Lissa Woodhouse chased it down and her attempted cross into the penalty area was blocked away for a throw. This resulted in a free kick which Rebecca Hornsey hit into the wall and out for a corner from the left side. Belles cleared this out for a throw on the right and with Lucy Turner staying up she managed to get a shot away but the Keeper was well positioned.
8 min Belles No10 breaks out through midfield and into the Barnsley half before passing into No9 on the left to shoot just wide of the right hand post
9 min Lucy Turner cleared up to Amy Woodruff, who controlled well back to Drew Greene. She played it over the top for Amy Woodruff to run onto and cross from close to the goal line. Lissa Woodhouse rose well in the goal area to head onto the crossbar and back in play where it was cleared only as far as Kathryn Smith but she hit her shot over the goal.
13 min a Barnsley corner from the right side was easily cleared
14 min Darcie Greene won the ball back in midfield, she played through to Lissa Woodhouse and her square ball into the penalty area was perfect for Amy Woodruff to run onto and score 0-1 Barnsley
15 min Belles broke into the right side of the penalty area but Annie Ward was quickly across to tackle out for a corner
18 min Kathryn Smith won the ball back just outside the Belles penalty area, she played into Lissa Woodhouse who took a shot on the turn which the goalkeeper saved out for a corner.
19 min a poor Belles goal kick was picked up by Lissa Woodhouse, she played in Amy Woodruff one on one with the keeper, who she rounded to shoot goal wards, but covering defenders managed to clear the shot off the line for a corner.
20 min Lucy Turner played up to Mollie Crump on the left side, she crossed over to Amy Woodruff but it was cleared out for a Barnsley throw.
25 min Belles corner from the right side was blocked away by Sophie Bell
28 min Mollie Crump played up to Lissa Woodhouse to drive into the left hand of the Belles penalty area but her shot was saved out passed the left hand post
33 min Rebecca Hornsey fouled a Belles player central just inside the Barnsley half, but Kathryn Smith safely headed away,
39 min Lissa Woodhouse was away again down the left wing released by a lovely weighted pass from Mollie Crump, she crossed into Drew Greene who was defended but managed to pass to Amy Woodruff to shoot just wide of the right hand post.
43 min Belles played a ball through the Barnsley defence into the right wing channel but Skye Kirkham was alert to quickly get to the ball first and out for a throw, which Annie Ward cleared.
44 Barnsley free-kick on halfway was lifted into the penalty area by Rebecca Hornsey, Amy Woodruff headed down for Lissa Woodhouse to shoot but to groans from the Barnsley supporters it was well saved away for a corner.
46 min Lissa Woodhouse crossed deep from the left wing to Sophie Bell arriving at the back post but she headed just wide.
Half-time 0-1 Barnsley FC Ladies, a bright first half with Doncaster Belles on the back foot due to some good attacking play stretching the game down both wings by Barnsley FC Ladies.
Barnsley get the second half underway and thankfully the rain is now a bit lighter.
52 min Lissa Woodhouse one-two with Kathryn Smith, allowed her to cross into Amy Woodruff whose shot is deflected out for corner, but the officials were unsure and gave a goal kick.
53 min Belles No10 dribbles through from midfield, but Mollie Crump defends her away from goal well and out for a corner, from which Lucy Turner calmly heads into Skye Kirkham
55 Darcie Greene presses the Belles defender high up the pitch to win a corner on the left hand side
57 Barnsley break up the right wing through Lissa Woodhouse her cross over the keeper drifts towards the goal and rebounds off the back post.
59 Rebecca Hornsey plays through to Amy Woodruff but she is defender away.
60 Belles substitution with No9 off and No15 on.
61 Belles corner is blocked away by Lucy Turner and then cleared by Mollie Crump.
67 min Belles free kick awarded against Rebecca Hornsey, who was spoken to by the referee, was easily caught by Skye Kirkham
68 min another Belles substitution No 7 off replaced by No17
70 Belles No10 dribble her way across the edge of the penalty area before shooting low which Skye Kirkham saved well and cleared by Annie Ward for a corner.
71:20 Belles corner was swung in and met at the back post by Isabelle Whittle to head in the equaliser, 1-1.
74 min Darcie was through on goal when she was fouled 19 yards out, appeals were loud for a caution but nothing given. Rebecca Hornsey took the free kick around the wall but just wide.
81 min Lucy Turner lifted a free kick into the Belles penalty area from inside the Barnsley half, the bounce was misjudged by the defender and Amy Woodruff was first to react, but pushed her shot just wide.
83:40 min Substitution for Barnsley with Kathryn Smith coming off for Sophie Crosby. Mollie Crump moved to right back, Sophie Crosby went to left back. Sophie Bell moving up into midfield.
88:30 min Belles corner was blocked away but was crossed back in and headed into the goal 2-1 by Isabelle Whittle again. Belles were ecstatic having come from behind to lead
92:50 min Barnsley did not give up, they pressed forward and Sophie Crosby passed up the left wing to Lissa Woodhouse, she turned inside her defender before playing back to Rebecca Hornsey to cross towards the back post where Sophie Bell met it to score the equaliser. It was now time for Barnsley to be ecstatic.
94:22 min Full time whistle blew and we were heading for extra-time. What a cup game this had turned out to be.

96 min Lucy Turner plays out from the back to Drew Greene, she threads a ball threw the Belles defence for Amy Woodruff to shoot at the goal keeper.
101 min Amy Woodruff broke down the right wing and crossed towards Lissa Woodhouse, it was a little too high, but Darcie Greene recovered the ball and shot goal wards, unfortunately seeing it blocked by the hand of Lissa Woodhouse as she protected herself from being hit.
102 Lissa Woodhouse was put through the middle but her shot towards the right had side of the goal was saved away.
103 min Belles substitution No14 coming on for No2.
105 Barnsley Substitution with Lissa Woodhouse replaced by Rebecca Fevers. Drew Greene going up front with Rebecca slotting into midfield
107 Sophie Crosby took a free kick following handball in the centre of the park, Belles first headed it and then keeper came to punch away only as far as Drew Greene but her shot was cleared away.
110 end of the 1st half of extra time, quick turnaround and we were back underway at Rossington with Belles kick off.
113 min Drew Greene down the left wing breaking the offside trap but her cross into the box was gathered by the Belles Keeper.
115 Belles No10 was still lively and managed to get a shot away from edge of the penalty area which Skye Kirkham saved
116 Drew Greene crossed into the penalty area, where Sophie Bell found herself unchallenged as she headed a well-positioned header goal wards, but the keeper acrobatically managed to dive across to save.
117 min Sophie Crosby fouled the Belles left winger, breath was held as the free kick came into the box, but exhaled when Barnsley safely cleared.
120 min Rebecca Fevers hit a great weighted ball into right wing channel for Sophie Bell to run on to, her first cross was blocked but she got a second chance as it came back to her to hit a left foot shot which the keeper saved.
121 min Rebecca Hornsey took a Barnsley corner which was cleared, Darcie Greene picked up and passed out to Sophie Bell on the right to cross into the box but this was also cleared.
122 min a Barnsley corner from the left was swung in by Rebecca Hornsey, it came off a Belles defender head at the front post and flew straight at the keeper who instinctively patted it away, Sophie Crosby got a foot to it to send it goal wards, but it came back into the goal area off the left goal post before Mollie Crump shinned it towards the right hand post which it bounced off and into the goal. Not a pretty goal but they all count 3 mins to go and Barnsley FC Ladies had regained the lead.
123 min Amy Woodruff was fouled deep in the Belles half, Rebecca Hornsey took her time with the free kick, it was cleared away but precious seconds had gone by.
126 min relief for the Barnsley FC Ladies staff and supporters, disappointment for Belles as the Referee blew the final whistle.
It had been a well-played cup game by both teams which swung one way and then another, with both teams not giving up. Substitutions had been made that made an impact, and most importantly the Reds were through to the next round. Some tired players though
