On a filthy wet and windy cold February evening, with a delayed kick off time due to lack of available changing rooms, the Barnsley FC Ladies lined up against Sheffield Utd Ladies, having put 10 passed Rotherham Utd at the weekend and who sit in 3rd in Midland division 1 , but with aspirations of playing higher in the WPL structure..
The whole team played really well and showed a team spirit that showed understanding, playing really well to go into half time at 2-1 with Alayna Millard scoring her first goal for the senior team. But Drew Greene limped off.
In the 2nd half they nullified Sheffield defending well to ensure the game finished 2-1 . Alayna Millard was named player of the match for Barnsley.
Well done keep it up and hope you have all thawed out.
No game this weekend, opportunity to watch the Reserves at Oakwell in the cup vs Millmoor Juniors.
