Early meet again for the Reds as they head up to Chester le Street in the second of 2 matches on 2 consecutive weekends, this time in the SSE Women’s FA Cup 3rd round qualifier.

No early goals this week for Barnsley FC Ladies in front of a small crowd at Chester Moor. It was Chester le Street Town with goals either side of half time, (44th & 53rd min) both scored by Nicole Goundry-Havery. The first from a long ball over the top which caught out the defence and Barnsley were chasing the game.
Substitutions on 60 mins saw Demi Pringle come on for Danielle Lowe and then Anna Cairns for Rebecca Fevers after 67 mins.
A long range shot and goal from Captain Abbie Parkin on 69 mins set up a tense finish but Chester le Street Town held out to ensure they were the name in the draw for the next round as it finished 2-1.
Drew Greene was named opposition player of the match with Holly Findlay the Barnsley Player of the match.
Next match is Wednesday night under the floodlights against Brighouse Town Ladies who are undefeated since their last meet 3 weeks ago at Sheerien Park when Brighouse won 0-3, so a tough game in prospect but hope the Ladies can shine this time to take points.
