Three hours northward travel on a damp dismal Sunday morning, arriving at Kingsley Park, Crawcrook, Tyne & Wear 20 min before scheduled kick off time with stiff legs and to fortunately see the clouds clearing and sky brightening up. One look at the bobbly pitch said this was going to be an interesting match. Tynedale were still a threat at the other end and Laura Wilson had to parry a strong shot around her left post from a move which saw their No 9 released, but from the resulting corner Niamh Ryalls released Amy Woodruff who surged forward before playing the ball into the box to be met by Drew Greene.
On 39 minute Abby Parkin was replaced at right back by Emily Ward, and Barnsley were now finishing the stronger as Tynedale tired.
