First match of the season got underway at Oakwell, against Norton & Stockton, who had moved down from the league above.

1-0 The Reds went in the lead when Holly Findlay, who's sponsored by MHJ Electrical, ran onto a bouncing ball passed forward by Lucy Turner, she managed to hold off her defender and took a great finish by lobbing the goalkeeper who came running out.

1-1 Norton were back into the game when possession was lost high up the field by Holly, which led to a long ball being played down the wing to their attacker to run onto, however Lucy Turner beat her to it and laid it off to GK Laura Wilson, unfortunately the pass fell short and their attacker took advantage of this and passed the ball into the open goal.

After several one-on-one chances with the GK, The Reds couldn't convert their many chances, keeping the score 1-1.

1-2 Norton's second goal came when their attacker had a great strike at goal, after running onto a through ball and hitting it first time, beating the goalkeeper.

The Reds take a long journey up to Wallsend next week to take on another new side in the league.
