Today the reds visit junior tykes for a local Derby at woodmoor memorial ground
The pitch not being in great condition and the markings poor the reds kicked off and immediately started to run at the tykes defence, a excellant run on 3 minutes by Georgie hickling down the right wing and a cut into the tykes area sees a shot at goal and to make it 1-0 to the reds.
Straight from the restart the reds were all over the tykes but then on 5 minutes a long kick from the tykes goal keeper saw there striker round the barnsley defence and bag the tykes equaliser making it 1-1.
Another run on 7 minutes by Georgie sees another shot at goal only to see this one go wide of the upright.
With a corner from either team coming to nothing and then on 16 minutes a shot at goal from sasha west goes wide of the post and 3 minutes later on 19 minutes a pass through from Midfield to isabelle booker sees her shot blocked by the tykes defence.
Another corner for barnsley on 22 minutes defended well by the tykes and then on 24 minutes a corner for the tykes not cleared by the reds sees a miss hit shot role into the bottom corner of the barnsley goal making it 2-1 to the tykes
Barnsley immediately attack the tykes goal and on 28 minutes isabelle heavie hits the wood work with a brilliant shot at goal.
Half time 2-1

Second half sees some changes for barnsley,
Sasha west comes off and macie Jones moves up from defence to fill the place upfront and on comes Ella Stephens to replace macie Jones in defence
The tykes kick off but straight away the reds intersept the ball and attack the tykes goal and a brilliant shot from macie Jones sees it go wide.
A corner on 36 minutes from kelsey dawson sees an attempt at goal only collected by the goal keeper.
The tykes are awarded a corner on 38 minutes but comes to nothing but then on 42 minutes we see another shot from Georgie go high of the crossbar,
45minutes gone and a substitution for barnsley sees isabelle booker off and sasha west to return upfront along side macie jones.
A corner on 48 minutes for the tykes defended well and cleared by the reds only to be picked up in Midfield by the tykes and a thumble in the barnsley defence nearly gifts tykes there 3rd but then 3 minutes later poor marking in defence allowed the tykes striker to create a miss hit shot again at goal to go in off the post making it 3-1 to the home team
Some late surges by barnsley sees a corner awarded and a missed shot by sasha west go wide but not enough to pull back the scoreline.
The reds showed a gutsy performance against a mediocre team but luck was just not on there side
Numerous shots at goal and chances created great passing from Midfield through to the strikers
Nothing more could have been asked from them and again barnsley were the better team but come out 2nd best
This result sees barnsley spend the festive season at the bottom of the leauge but hopefully next year will fetch some better luck the reds way and see a climb up the table.
