After the 2nd round win last week at home against grassroots, this week barnsley travel to a windy Dronfield Town fc in the 3rd round.
Dronfield are flying high in division 1 and are chasing for the title so this will be a tough one for the reds.
Dronfield kick off Assisted by the wind and immediately show the talent they have with precision passes through the Midfield and working there way towards the barnsley goal and are awarded a corner on 2 minutes.
The corner is taken and grabbed by the barnsley goal keeper, a goal kick for barnsley and the ball is won by Dronfield, again they press the barnsley defence then on 4 minutes a shot from outside the area is brilliantly saved by the barnsley keeper.
Another run at the barnsley goal and a great shot from the left hand side of the barnsley area sees the ball hit the top corner of the barnsley goal.

The reds restart and on 7 minutes a marvelous run down the left wing by barnsleys new sighning faye macalska and her cut into the Dronfield area only to see the ball knocked out for a barnsley corner,
Corner taken by kelsey dawson into the area and a shot from macy Jones just sees the ball go wide.
Another great chance on 9 minutes sees Macey philips shot blocked by the Dronfield defence after a great pass from the left wing.
Dronfield intercept the ball and again a brilliant shot from outside the barnsley area sees the ball hit the back of the barnsley goal again.

Barnsley restart
13 minutes gone and Dronfield are awarded a corner but saved by the barnsley keeper, Dronfield carry on pressing barnsley and with 16 minutes gone bag there 3rd from a stunning shot again from outside the barnsley penalty area leaving the goal keeper no chance.

Another corner for Dronfield on 18 minutes again saved by the inform keeper but then on 20 minutes a run towards the barnsley box and a marvelous shot again ends up in the back of the barnsley goal.

On 22 minutes we see a great cross from the left wing into the Dronfield box only to see Macey Philips shot saved denying barnsley a goal.
2 minutes later we see Dronfield again show the skill that's got them flying high in div1 and another great shot hit the back of the barnsley net.

Barnsley make a substitution on 25 minutes which sees sasha west come off from Central Midfield and replaced by isabelle heavie.
Immediatly Dronfield have the ball and continue to press and on 27 minutes another shot saved then on 29 minutes they make it 6-0 with another impressive goal.
Whistle blows for half time and the reds deserve the break after relentless pressure

Barnsley make some substitutions which sees Macie philips come off and isabelle booker to replace her up front and Macy jones come off to be replaced by Georgie hickling on the right wing.
Barnsley kick off and immediately come out strong and attack the Dronfield area which awards them a corner,kelsey dawson takes the corner and a shot by faye mickalska is blocked by the Dronfield defence.
34 minutes gone a run into the barnsley area sees a shot saved by the barnsley keeper and tipped around the post for a corner to Dronfield which comes to nothing.
Barnsley immediately counter attack and a great run down the right wing sees a pass through to isabelle booker and her shot saved by the dronfield field keeper,
39 minutes and a clearence from the barnsley defender sees the ball hit her hand inside the area and awards dronfield a penalty.
Dronfield calmly strike and beat the keeper to bag there 7th.

Barnsley attack the Dronfield area again on 45 minutes and a great pass through from isabelle heavie to isabelle booker in the Dronfield area sees the shot blocked by the Dronfield defence then again on 47 minutes a run down the right wing by Georgie hickling sees her cut into the Dronfield area and shoot only to see it go high.
Dronfield again have a saved shot on 50
minutes , then 3 minutes later anther great run from the barnsley left wing and pass into the area sees another shot saved from isabelle booker.
55 minutes gone a great run inti the Dronfield area from isabelle heavie sees her shot blocked again by the Dronfield defence.
3 minutes later in the dying stages of this tough tie for barnsley Dronfield bag there 8th goal.

Full Time
Barnsley walk off the field with there heads held high and came to this tie expecting a tough game and they weren't far wrong but some excellant work in the second half allowed barnsley to create some great chances only to be kept out by a strong Dronfield defence and also being able to limit the goal tally too.
barnsley should be proud of a brave effort against a very well organised team who showed great skill through out the game that got them the result.
