Barnsley Reserves started the game well with plenty of possession. They created a few chances but the deadlock wasnt broken until the 35min. Maddison Foye put a cross into the box that was deflected into the path of Ellie Brightmore who headed the ball home from 3 yards out.
The Reds kept pressing but it was Sheffield who got an equaliser just before half time.
Barnsley retook the lead early in the second half when Brightmore ran through on goal and squared the ball to Ellie Beevers who fired it home to score her first goal for the Reserves.
Sheffield responded by scoring two goals in quick succession to take the lead. The Reds got an equaliser 10mins from time - A ferocious shot by Mel Cole was saved by the keeper but she palmed it to Brightmore who slotted the ball in from 5 yards out.
Although Reds Reserves had the chances and tried their hardest, they just couldn't get that crucial goal to secure the win. It finished 3 all.
