Barnsley started well but Rotherham struck first with a strike from distance.
Barnsley equalised when Ellie Brightmore was in the right place to deflect a saved shot from Lauryn Wilcock back in to the net. Rotherham then scored 2 goals to take a commanding lead.
Emily Pierrepont got one back for the Reds with a close range finish from a through ball by Mel Cole making it 3-2.
Barnsley drew level 6 mins into the 2nd half. It was another calm close range finish from Pierrepont when she got on the end of a through ball from Brightmore.
Rotherham responded with a couple of goals from a free kick and a corner. The reds got another goal through Pierrepont as she was slid through on goal by Ellie Beevers to complete her hattrick. Rotherham then got two more goals near the end of the game to finish 7-4 winners.
Although the young Barnsley team gave it a good go they eventually succumbed to a more experienced and physical Rotherham side. The game was closer than scoreline suggests and Barnsley played a lot of good football but it finished 7-4 to Rotherham.
She was a constant threat, tormenting the Rotherham defence all match and could've had more goals to her tally. However, still a great effort to get a Hat-trick! @BWFCReserves POTM goes to....Emily Pierrepont
