Manager Craige Richardson made 5 changes from the recent league game, with starts for Maya Schofield, Tally Diamond, Lauren Richardson, Becks Hornsey and Misty Russell as well as a return for Emily Fitzpatrick, who started on the bench.

The Reds started brightly and were denied an early lead with the opposition keeper Jovic making several saves to keep Jodie Snelson, Caroline Nuttall and Jemima Jarvis at bay.

The first 30 minutes were attack vs defence and the hosts were valiant in their containment, until the 31st minute where some neat play from Schofield from a throw in, found Caroline Nuttall who played it into Jodie Snelson, who slotted home on the edge of the 6 yard line. An early substitution followed, with Anita Gaspar replacing Misty Russell who had been taken out early in the game.

It looked as though the Reds would then double the lead and had several chances, but were then sucker punched when a long hopeful punt found the right winger for the hosts in on goal and she calmly rounded Clarke and slotted home. At this point the hosts were feeling a cup upset on the cards and several comments relating to our status as a club were referenced.

Their ascendancy was short-lived as just before half time a brilliant cross from Jemima Jarvis met the head of Jodie Snelson to head home and make in 2 for her and 2-1 in the game.

A half time substitution saw Demi Barai replace Becks Hornsey. The hosts half time team talk of hope were ended in the 48th minute when some brilliant play saw Jodie Snelson through on goal and she made it 3-1 and claimed a hat-trick for herself.

At this point it was all Barnsley, and we completely controlled the game. Hitting the bar three times before Jodie Snelson, in the 55th Minute, claimed her 4th of the game.

This prompted Richardson to make the rest of the changes available to him, replacing Snelson, Schofield and L.Richardson with Woodcock, Fitzpatrick and O.Richardson.

Normally subs would disrupt the flow depending on the way the game is going, but it continued in the same fashion with control of the play and we then made it 5-1 in the 65th minute. A corner from Jemima Jarvis was fumbled by the hosts keeper into the net. Dubious goals panel would have to decide the scorer, but the media man would give it to Jarvis.

The rest of the game was controlled and could have ended with two or three more goals, but a safe progression into the Semi-Final of the County Cup and Huddersfield Town First Team await.
