The Reds head into today’s first game of the season to face last seasons last visitors to the OLP, Worcester City.
The off-season has brought a lot of change for the Reds with a number of new signings and backroom staff brought in to improve on last seasons 6th place finish.
The club have brought in 10 new faces to the OLP this season, with a lot having had Tier 4 experiences.
The club have signed Freya Walton from Barnsley FC, Charlotte Stuart from Huddersfield, Ocean Rolandsen and Karli Smith from York, Helen Lynskey from Hull City, Amber Sewell from Sheffield Utd, Summer Reece from Notts County, Lucy Cook from Sheffield FC and Tanya Fozzard and Tara Flaherty were recently at Leeds Mods.
The visitors come to the OLP having ended last season in a little form and stayed up after the 3-3 draw against us. They will be looking to improve on last season and will be looking for the talented Annie Highway, last seasons FAWNL Division One Midlands Player of the Year, to help them achieve higher than their 10th placed finish.
The first game of the season is always one of the most anticipated games of the season and it opens up a long season. We can’t wait to get going.
